Partielle Sonnenfinsternis feat. ISS

Das Hamburger Mistwetter hat mich gestern um die partielle Sonnenfinsternis betrogen. Dafür hat mich aber Thierry Legault mit seinem großartigen Foto einer leicht bedeckten Sonne versöhnt, vor der in der Sekunde der Aufnahme Darth Vader in einem TIE Fighter die Raumstation ISS vorbeifliegt:

The No Pants Subway Ride Hamburg 2011

Improv Everywhere, die mit ihren Aktionen seit geraumer Zeit für "scenes of chaos and joy in public places" sorgen, rufen zum Global No Pants Subway Ride 2011 auf. Oben ein Video aus New York, wo schon seit 2002 in der U-Bahn die Hosen runtergelassen werden. Eine Liste der teilnehmenden Städte gibts hier, in Deutschland soll eine Aktion in Hamburg stattfinden:

DIY-Schneekette fürs Fahrrad

Wer trotz Schneemassen nicht aufs Fahrradfahren verzichten möchte: Jemand von Dutch Bike Co. hat sich eine clevere Lösung einfallen lassen, wie man sich mit Kabelbinder eine "Schneekette" für seinen Drahtesel basteln kann:

It's quick, it's cheap, and yes, it looks completely ludicrous. BUT. It works. It works beautifully. I can accelerate, brake, and corner with aplomb, even on the vile snowpack/sheet ice mix the plows leave in the bike lanes. The zip ties dig nicely into the hardest packed surfaces, but they're thin enough not to bounce the bike around at low speed or on short pavement sections.
