Die Blogrebellen, das sympathische Musik-Blog-TV-Radio-Party-Kollektiv aus Berlin, haben ihre erste Compilation am Start. Den Stream habe ich unten eingebettet, Download-Link, Tracklist, Credits, etc. gibt's im Rebellenblog. Darauf eine Tasse Bier!

Durch die unzähligen Kontakte, die wir in den letzten sechs Jahren Blogrebellen zu Künstlern aus aller Welt aufgebaut haben, kamen wir auf die Idee, diese Musiker für einen Track für diese Compilation anzufragen. Die Resonanz war so überwältigend, dass wir diese 20 Tracks starke Compilation auf die Beine stellen konnten ...

Cy Kuckenbaker wohnt nicht gerade im ruhigsten Viertel von San Diego – aber perfekt, um ein nicht ganz unbekanntes Foto vom Flughafen Hannover als Video umzusetzen:

"I moved to a new neighborhood in San Diego a little over a year ago that put me close to the San Diego Int. Airport. Since then I have become increasingly interested in the rhythms of the airport and the airplanes themselves. San Diego has an unusual flight path that brings the planes in low right over the center of the city and they have to drop rapidly behind a hill to make the runway. When I saw a composite still image on PetaPixel of every airplane that took off in a day from a European airport I started to wonder if I could do something similar with video."

Ist der liebgewonnene Drahtesel in die ewigen Jagdgründe eingegangen, kann man sich jetzt seine sterblichen Überreste bei Bicycle Taxidermy zu schicken Staubfängern montieren lassen und über den Ohrensessel hängen.

A somewhat sentimental take on a mass produced object becoming defunct, the handlebars are given the care and craft of a preserved family pet(!) The bikes have now been re-appropriated as a family heirloom. Crafted in London; the taxidermy service mounts a client’s steed on a scorched or bleached European oak plaque ... Chrome mounting brackets fix the stem above a stainless steel epitaph etched in Argyll, Scotland, the plaque denotes the horned beasts model, pet name, dates ridden and a commemorative verse. Just fill in the epitaph field on the site and I’ll get it engraved and send out the plaque for you to mount yourself.

Minus mal Minus ergibt Plus: Man nehme ein Anti-Masturbations-Video in Gebärdensprache der Zeugen Jehovas, unterlege es mit "In Da Club" von 50 Cent und herauskommt ein prima Hip Hop-Video. Gibts auch auf YouTube, hab aber aus Gründen eine Alternative eingebunden.

Update: Das oben eingebundene Video wurde leider gelöscht, Falls das eingebunde Video plötzlich wieder verschwindet, läuft es mit mit einem Addon wie ProxTube o.ä. nach wie vor auf YouTube.

Selbstporträt vom Mars-Rover Curiosity

Die NASA hat ein Selbstporträt von ihrem Mars-Rover Curiosity veröffentlicht. Zwar sind auf dem aus 55 Thumbnails zusammengesetzten Foto mal wieder keine Marsbewohner mit drauf, trotzdem finde ich Roboter-Fotos vom Mars jedes Mal wieder total faszinierend:

This self-portrait documents the state of the rover and allows mission engineers to track changes over time, such as dust accumulation and wheel wear ... The mosaic shows the rover at "Rocknest," the spot in Gale Crater where the mission's first scoop sampling took place. Scoop scars can be seen in the regolith in front of the rover. A portion of Mount Sharp appears on the right side. Mountains in the background to the left are the northern wall of Gale Crater. When the rover returns the full-resolution MAHLI frames of the scene, the team plans to generate a more detailed portrait of Curiosity in its Martian neighborhood.
