Hövding: Airbag-Helm für Fahrradfahrer

Der Hövding ist eigentlich als Airbag für Fahrradfahrer konzipiert, funktioniert aber bestimmt auch prima für Betrunkene. Getragen wird er relativ unauffällig um den Hals, um sich dann im Ernstfall blitzschnell mit Helium zu füllen und helmartig um den Kopf zu legen. Ausgedacht haben sich den Airbag die schwedischen Studentinnen Anna Haupt and Terese Alstin im Rahmen eines Uni-Projekts. Ein Crashtest-Video mit dem Hövding in Aktion gibts nach dem Klick ...

Schöne Idee: Der holländische Designer Klaas Kuiken hat seinen Abschluss mit einem Dachziegel-Vogelhaus-Hybrid gemacht hat. 

Nowadays birds are not welcome under rooftiles anymore, so they lost a beautifull nest place. Placing a house on top of a rooftile, now created a nice place for a birdsnest. And also better to spot!

Penney Design hat sich überlegt, wie Facebook auf einer DOS-Kiste anno 1984 ausgesehen haben könnte. Besonders gefallen mir die Sticker über den Diskettenlaufwerken ...

Höhle die wie Supermans Festung der Einsamkeit aussieht

In der Mine von Naica in Mexiko gibt es eine Höhle mit riesigen Kristallen, die bis zu 50 Tonnen wiegen. Und wie im Make:Blog treffend bemerkt wird: Das Ganze hat eine frappierende Ähnlichkeit mit der Festung der Einsamkeit, bekannt aus diversen Superman-Geschichten. Die Freiheitsstatue wird jährlich angeblich von über 600 Blitzen getroffen. Trotzdem hat es den New Yorker Fotograf Jay Fine über 40 Jahre gekostet, bis im dieser Schnappschuss gelungen ist:
