Imperial Walker (AT-AT) aus Computerschrott

Mal wieder ein AT-AT, nur dass dieses Exemplar überwiegend aus Computerschrott zusammengetackert wurde:

Gibts bei Etsy zu kaufen und kostet in etwas so viel wie ein neuer Einsteiger-PC. Und na klar:

Jack Crossing hat einen brennenden Astronauten vor die Radio City Music Hall in Manhattan geshopped, was ziemlich klasse aussieht. "This was a concept for a band in the states, they decided not to go with it. Instead My brothers label is going to use it." Schön blöd die Band.

Kurzer Statusbericht

Das mit dem Bloggen war leider nix diese Woche: Tolle Sachen gesehen, aber keine Zeit gehabt, die hier reinzukopieren. Überhaupt muss ich ein paar Dinge anders organisieren, um weitermachen zu können wie bisher (eigentlich will ich gar nicht exakt so weitermachen, sondern ein paar Details ändern. Aber das ist eine andere Baustelle und dazu ein anderes Mal mehr ...). Nächste Woche dann hoffentlich wieder mit höherer Postingfrequenz. Bis dann.

Amazon verkauft mehr eBooks als Taschenbücher

Es ist soweit. Zumindest in den USA. Amazon hat im vierten Quartal 2010 mehr eBooks als Taschenbücher verkauft:

"Amazon.com is now selling more Kindle books than paperback books. Since the beginning of the year, for every 100 paperback books Amazon has sold, the Company has sold 115 Kindle books. Additionally, during this same time period the Company has sold three times as many Kindle books as hardcover books. This is across Amazon.com's entire U.S. book business and includes sales of books where there is no Kindle edition. Free Kindle books are excluded and if included would make the numbers even higher."

Utopia: Vintage Pulp-Coverart aus Deutschland

Utopia war eine pulpige SciFi-Reihe, die Anfang 50er- bis Ende 60er-Jahre herausgegeben wurde. Vor ein paar Jahren hatte ich auf einer Comicbörse mal ein paar eingetütete Ausgaben in der Hand. Reinschauen durfte ich nicht, was mir aber egal war. Mich haben vor allem die Cover interessiert. Eine kleine aber eine feine Auswahl hat Livejournal-User z3000 zusammengestellt.

Wir schreiben das Jahr 1981. Nachdem sich Jimmy Ienner, seines Zeichens Chef von Millenium Records, vier Songs einer gewissen Madonna angehört hat, verfasst er freundlich aber bestimmt obenstehendes Ablehnungsschreiben. Ihr Debüt-Album erschien dann zwei Jahre später – bei einem anderen Label ."Love On The Run", der Ienner überhaupt nicht gefiel, kann man sich (noch) bei YouTube anhören.
