Fotos vom Haus aus Woody Allens SciFi-Komödie Sleeper
Patrick Young hat Fotos vom retrofuturistischen Sleeper House gemacht, das in den 70ern als Filmkulisse für die leider etwas mittelprächtige Komödie "Der Schläfer" von und mit Woody Allen diente. Die Wikipedia über das Haus:
Das Sleeper House [wurde] durch den Architekten Charles Deaton im Jahr 1963 entworfen und 1965 fertiggestellt, jedoch anschließend nicht bewohnt wurde. Es wurde durch den Film Der Schläfer von Woody Allen und seine futuristisch anmutende Architektur bekannt. Nachdem das Haus als Filmkulisse gedient hatte, verfiel es, bis der US-amerikanische Millionär Michael Dunahay es für geschätzte 5 Millionen US-Dollar kaufte und renovieren ließ. Das Interieur wurde ebenfalls komplett erneuert, passt aber in den Stil des Hauses der sechziger Jahre. Das Haus besteht aus etwa einem Dutzend Zimmern, davon fünf Badezimmer, und hat eine Gesamtwohnfläche von 700 Quadratmetern ... Das Hauptcharakteristikum wird ... durch die Wände gebildet: mit einer Ausnahme sind diese gewölbt. Das Haus ist auch unter den Namen Spaceship House, Taco House, Eyelid House und Sculptured House bekannt. Es liegt im US-Bundesstaat Colorado, etwa 40 km von Denver entfernt, auf 2600m Höhe an einem Hang der Gennessee Mountains. Die diesjährige Halloween-Saison lässt sich schon mal gut an: Andy Oakland hat bei Make:Projects eine Anleitung gepostet, wie man relativ einfach einen tollen Meat Head basteln kann. Und wäre in Jell-O (das rote Zeug) keine Gelatine drin, wäre das Ding sogar für Vegetarier geeignet.

Ich bin zwar kein Ballett-Fan, aber diesen ein Meter kleinen Roboter mit seinem gerupften Federkleid bei seiner Schwanensee-Interpretation zuzusehen hat mich sehr gerührt. Der Bot wurde an der Uni Mälardalen (Schweden) konstruiert und die Choreografie stammt von einem professionellen Choreografen:
"We want to explore the limits of what a robot can do, what human expressions it can mimic, and how it affects people's perception of the robot when it makes an appearance in art and dance, says Lars Asplund, Professor of Computer Science at Mälardalen University in Västerås, Sweden ... The idea for the dancing robot was hatched jointly by Lars Asplund and his colleague Kerstin Gauffin, who works with theatre at Mälardalen University. With our swan we are showing that we can use robots in new ways – simply because they are beautiful and give the audience new experiences, says Kerstin Gauffin ... She got in touch with the professional dancer and choreographer Åsa Unander-Scharin, who now has designed the robot's special dance to the tunes of the famous composer Tchaikovsky. By systematically having the robot swan perform each movement by itself – right wing up, neck down, etc ... I think it's exciting to see how emotionally touched people can get by machines ..." Tilt-Shift Van Gogh
Zuletzt haben so viele Tilt Shift Fotos und Videos die Runde gemacht, dass ich mich am Modellandschaft-Look sattgesehen habe. Doch dann laufen mir die 16 Tilt-Shift Van Goghs von Serena Malyon über den Weg.
"The effect can be simulated in Photoshop, by adjusting a photograph's contrast, colour saturation and depth of focus. It works quite well with regular photographs, so we decided to try it using paintings to see what would happen, and it turns out that the works of Vincent van Gogh in particular make excellent subjects for this kind of treatment ...
