Doctor Bug hat in Neuseeland eine riesige Weta entdeckt. Die Parlamentärin der imperialen Insektiodenarmee forderte die sofortige Kapitulation der Menschheit und eine Karotte:

As my son gets older and I get more grey hair, I wonder what kind of advice will I give to my grandkids. My three grandmothers where always giving me sermons instead of tips. “Be carfeul with your money”. “Don´get invloved with that girl”, “Save”, “Get a haircut, you look like a hippie”, and all those classic parent, grandparent comments. When you´re younger you think you´ll never fall into that same kind of discourse, until you find yourself talking about stupid (cliché) stuff with your kid, about how important school is and if you don´t have a degree you´re nobody. Apropos Home: Familie Katze ist mal wieder am umziehen, nachdem das vor ein paar Wochen leider nicht so geklappt hat, wie wir uns das vorgestellt hatten. Deshalb gehts hier voraussichtlich doch erst Anfang September weiter – Internet gibts in der neuen Wohnung schon. Seit Juni. Immerhin.

Die Tony Shafrazi Gallery in New York stellt gerade eine Sammlung russischer Filmposter ("Aesthetic Experiments of Russian Constructivism") von 1920-33 aus. Netterweise gibs (momenan) alle Exponate online - wenn auch etwas kleinformatig. Noch besser: Hier gibts mehr und in groß von den Stenberg Brüdern, von denen ein Großteil der Poster stammt.

Stephen Shames: The Bronx
"The Bronx" ist ein beeindruckendes Langzeit-Projekt des Fotografen Stephen Shames, der ein paar Jugendliche aus der Bronx zwei Jahrzehnte lang begleitet und ihr Aufwachsen zwischen Drogen, Gewalt und Gangs dokumentiert hat. Leider lassen sich die Fotos nicht direkt verlinken, deshalb hier klicken und dann rechts "The Bronx" auswählen. Das Ganze gibts für 20 Dollar auch als Buch.

Ich habe nicht einen Song von Marilyn Manson im Plattenregal stehen oder auf der Festplatte liegen und auch nicht vor, daran irgendwann was zu ändern. Als Cover von einer Roboter Band lasse ich mir das aber schon mal gefallen. Aus der Videobeschreibung:
"Intially I was working on my own version of Mad World and I did complete it however the Robot Cello didn't work out because the sound of the solenoids and stepper motor was drowning out the song. So I scrapped the project altogether. One night I was working on the Cello and the stepper motor started to jitter almost ripping the Cello sting and Bow apart. As I was jumping over to the power switch I noticed that the jittery sound reminded me of a song. That song turned out to be The Beautiful People by Marilyn Manson. I programmed a small part for the Cello and it sounded great. Who would have ever though to use a Cello in that song? 2 months later.... my video was complete. So Enjoy..."
