D.I.Y Action Figures aus Müll in Afghanistan

How did you get inspired to start making these figures? My mind never stops thinking of building things whether its toys or buildings or whatever the occasion calls for. I love robots, and lack of joints will not stop me from creating what’s in my head.

DIY-Schneekette fürs Fahrrad

Wer trotz Schneemassen nicht aufs Fahrradfahren verzichten möchte: Jemand von Dutch Bike Co. hat sich eine clevere Lösung einfallen lassen, wie man sich mit Kabelbinder eine "Schneekette" für seinen Drahtesel basteln kann:

It's quick, it's cheap, and yes, it looks completely ludicrous. BUT. It works. It works beautifully. I can accelerate, brake, and corner with aplomb, even on the vile snowpack/sheet ice mix the plows leave in the bike lanes. The zip ties dig nicely into the hardest packed surfaces, but they're thin enough not to bounce the bike around at low speed or on short pavement sections.

Probiere ich morgen übermorgen nächstes Jahr gleich mal aus ...

Aram Bartholl, neulich erst mit seinen eingemauerten USB-Sticks in sämtlichen Blogs, hat zusammen mit Ariel Schlesinger ein neues Projekt realisiert. Das Ganze nennt sich Looptaggr und ist eine clevere "drive-by stenciling technology" Marke Eigenbau: man braucht lediglich einen Drahtkleiderbügel, Pappe, Klebeband und natürlich eine Sprühdose. Toll!

Ich hatte hier schon einen NES- und einen Playstation-Controller-Couchtisch. Die NES-Controller-Version von 10up Deluxe steckt beide allerdings locker in die Tasche. Detailgetreu im Maßstab 10:1 gebaut, sieht das Teil nicht nur supi aus, sondern hat die Konsole auch gleich mit an Bord und ist selbstverständlich voll funktionsfähig. Video gibts nach dem Klick.

Tjeerd Veenhoven war mit der Akkusituation seines iPhones unzufrieden und hat sich deshalb ein windbetriebenes Ladegerät auf Basis eines Computer-Lüfter gebastelt:
